The Korean fungivorous Scardiinae of the family Tineidae are mainly studied by Park (1983, 1990, 1996) and Ponomarenko (1996). The subfamily Scardiinae was added by Park (1990) for the first time in Korea. They are composed with six species Montescardia kurenzovi Zagulajev, Morophaga bucephala Snellen, Morophaga fasciculata Robinson, Morophaga formosana Robinson, Morophagoides ussuriensis Robinson. Park (1990) described Morophaga formosana as a new species with the host plants, Ganoderma lucidum. And it is recorded that Morophagoides moriutii feeds Oak Mushroom, Lentinus edodes in Japan. But the other species haven't been known their host plants in Korea. It was only assumed that they feed dried mushrooms and bracket fungus (family Polyporaceae) in the wild. Up to date, the studies of host plants have been limited useful mushrooms as shown above. In the present study, we find out the new hosts of two species, Morophaga bucephala, Morophagoides moriutii in the wild with the life history of Morophagoides moriutii in Korea. And also M. moriutii is recognized new to Korea. Therefore Korean Scardiinae is three genera six species. Through continued studies and rearing, much more fungus moths will be revealed in Korea from now on.
